Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the well-known professional name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born within Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her after her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish heritage. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. The time Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated into Mendocino County California. The town didn't even have electricity. Ryder was a voracious bookworm and spent most of her time reading books because there was no television. Ryder began to study acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was twelve years old. In 1986, she was offered her first big-screen role in the film Lucas aged just 15 years old. Ryder faced bullying during her high school. The hope was that her career in acting would alter her life. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. She pursued her dream. The year 1988 saw her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
